CEVA expands Less-than-Container Load offering with new Hamburg to New York service

CEVA Logistics has expanded its Less-than-Container Load (LCL) consolidation offering with the addition of a new service from Hamburg to New York.

This marks the first of many new LCL solutions scheduled to launch in Q4 2011, and offers faster cargo availability and a lowered risk of US customs holds and other related expenses.

Greg Scott, CEVA’s Global LCL Director, commented: "This new service will not only improve transit times from Germany to the US, but it will provide considerable improvement in cargo availability to our customers. It’s one of the many ways we are developing and improving our services to ensure we have the best offering in the ocean freight market."

The new service will give customers greater choice between Less-than-Container Load, Full-Container Load and break-bulk shipments in order to suit their specific needs. The new LCL service offers IPI (Inland Port Intact) connectivity to 77 locations within the US, while door deliveries can also be made through CEVA’s dedicated driver and trucking network.

The company stated that the new service offerings are an integral part of its ambition to become a top five ocean forwarder by 2013.

In 2011, CEVA has already launched LCL consolidations from Busan, South Korea to Toronto, Canada and from Kaohsiung, China to Chicago, US.
