Christmas peak above average at NX Group

E-commerce and Brexit stockpiling is driving the Christmas peak at NX Group above its 15% average for this time of year.

Richard Mallard, senior operations manager at NX Group, said: “We always expect an increase in orders at this time of year, usually around 15% but it’s busier than ever this year as more and more people opt to buy their Christmas gifts online and companies continue to stockpile goods in preparation for Brexit.

“We’re also providing e-commerce services to more customers than ever before, which brings with it a whole new set of dynamic challenges.

“Because it involves more targeted picking and packing, as well as home deliveries, it can be time-consuming; however, our team of e-commerce processors are on hand to ensure we continue to deliver as demand steps up.”

The Crick-based firm said it has invested ‘substantially’ in its warehouse facility at Northampton’s Westgate Industrial Estate to cope with demand, introducing more racking and upgraded CCTV throughout.
