Integrated supply chain solutions boost Dachser

Dachser group in 2014: Trend to outsource international complex logistics tasks stimulates organic growth of the service provider

In fiscal year 2014, Dachser SE (Kempten) generated 5.2 per cent in additional revenue. Including revenue from corporate holdings, the two Business Fields* Road Logistics and Air & Sea Logistics grew by 5 per cent and 8 per cent, respectively.

With about 25,000 employees at 437 locations worldwide the logistics provider transported a total of 73.7 million shipments in the reporting period (+4.4%), or 35.4 million tonnes of freight (+5.1%). Dachser has its own companies in 42 countries.

Bernhard Simon, CEO of Dachser, considers integrated supply chain solutions for multinational customers to be one of the major sources of growth in upcoming years: „Our efficient European groupage network, customized contract logistics solutions in Europe, Asia, and the U.S., as well as our own air and sea freight network allow us to create complete supply chains,“ he says.

According to Simon, growth through expansion of networks is finished except for enhancements here and there. Dachser will now be able to leverage its interlinked logistics services to achieve particularly sustainable growth.
