Claas extends cooperation with Stute Logistics

CS Parts Logistics GmbH is a joint venture of Claas Service and Parts GmbH and Sttute Logistics (AG & Co.) KG. Since the Parts Logistics Center was commissioned in Hamm in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1999, the joint venture has been responsible for handling the worldwide spare parts logistics of the international agricultural machinery group Claas. Starting with 67,000 articles, there are currently more than 170,000 different spare parts stored on an area of more than 100,000 m² and processed by meanwhile up to 400 employees.

In 2000, CS Parts had approximately 640,000 goods issue items, and the company set a new record this year, with more than 3 million positions in a fiscal year. Extensive administrative and operational measures helped to provide this service – for example, the flexible use of staff through the “job rotation” principle and the optimization of many picking and packing areas. Another record was set by CS Parts on March 9, with over 19,000 outbound items. By the year 2000, 5,854 positions in one day were the measure of all things.

The location will be restructured and extended by mid-2019 due to high warehouse utilization, the growing range of items and capacity bottlenecks during the harvest. The construction of a 30-meter-high and 100-meter-wide high bay warehouse will ensure the optimal use of the 11,400 square meter expansion area on the premises. The particular challenge lies in a highly dynamic precontrol gyro with more than 500 required container movements per hour in the full expansion stage.

In the future, the high rack will provide 100,000 parking spaces spread over 18 lanes. The commissioning and the connection to the existing processes are planned from August 2019.
