Clothing Manufacturer secures Stockport depot

Clothing manufacturer Chilli Apparel has agreed a 145,000 sq ft letting in Stockport to support its expansion plans. The company has taken a ten-year lease on Chain Point, a warehouse unit in Bredbury, at £3.75 per sq ft.

WHR Property Consultants and Lambert Smith Hampton advised on the deal.

Simon Hampson of WHR, said: “This is the second largest industrial deal to have been completed in the North West this year – the first being the letting to Amazon at Airport City. This deal demonstrates the continued strength of the North West property market and proves that despite initial Brexit fears, the North West is still very much open for business with occupier demand still strong.”

John Sullivan of Lambert Smith Hampton, added: “There is a real shortage of properties of this mid-size and big-box, especially around Manchester and Cheshire. Until there is more speculative development of industrial units of this type, we can only expect prices to go up.”
