Co-op to close Huntingdon DC

The Co-operative Food is to close its 88,000 sq ft Huntingdon distribution centre next August.

The food retail business is looking to build a new depot in the South East.

A spokesperson for the Co-op said: “I can confirm that we do not intend to renew the lease at our Cardinal Distribution Centre when it expires in August 2019.  We are exploring plans for a new distribution centre in the South East, and we will work closely with colleagues and the Unions over the next two years to ensure continuity of roles at the new site wherever possible.”
