Co-op to sell land at Birtley
The Co-operative is selling off 4.57 acres of land at the Drum Industrial Estate next to the A1 at Birtley in County Durham.
Property specialist HTA has been appointed to sell the site. Director Russell Taylor said: “Due to the shortage in the North East of suitable modern industrial property, this would be a great building opportunity for developers or owner occupiers”.
The Drum Industrial Estate counts Parcelforce, Coveris, Co-op and Rettig among its occupiers.
The Co-operative which is selling the site moved into purpose built premises totalling 271,000 sq ft on the same estate in 2008.
HTA is seeking offers in excess of £690,000 for the site.
