More shuttle trains on the Rotterdam-South German corridor

European Gateway Services and TX Logistics cooperate to increase the shuttle train offer between Rotterdam and Munich/Nuremberg

The number of trips with the shuttle connecting Rotterdam and Munich/Nuremberg will be increased from four to six weekly trains. This is a major route within the Rail Incubator project of the port company.

In this project together with market agents they establish new shuttle trains and increase the offer on existing routes.

The shuttle train to Southern Germany was established by European Gateway Services (part of ECT) and TX Logistics, one of the biggest railway companies in Europe, two years ago. Recently there was an increase to four trips. EGS/TX and the Port of Rotterdam/Rail Incubator are now working to increase the offer to six weekly trips.

Nils-Olaf Klabunde, TCU Trans Container Universal, is using „the other way“. „TCU is very satisfied with the rail connection between Rotterdam and Munich and Nuremberg. This is an additional service we can offer our customers in this region. We increasingly receive more requests for information from customers looking for a rail link via Rotterdam.

Decisive factors are the cost and transit times,“ is his first résumé.
