Combined transport in Austria – open calls in 2014

Investment promotion program for combined cargo transport supports the development and implementation of intermodal transport systems

In order to intensify the development of multimodal transport chains the initiative to support innovations for combined transport, promotes private investments for the combined use of road, rail and ship as efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to road freight.

Through a comprehensive development approach promoting the program is devoted to efficient establishment and operation of combined transport chains. It promotes in particular the necessary development and implementation of intermodal transport systems and technologies. With a funding ratio of 30 to 50% of investments are supported in the following areas:

-) Transport equipment such as containers, swap bodies, special vehicles and adaptations

-) Innovative technologies and systems, such as containers, cargo handling technology, logistics systems and transport mode independent ICT

-) Feasibility studies for specific implementing measures

-) External training costs

August 29, 2014, Deadline of 2nd period for submission
