Congress “The Permanent Oil Crisis: Challenges & Opportunities”

A comprehensive congress on our future energy situation

“The Permanent Oil Crisis: Challenges and Opportunities” is a comprehensive international congress that is not focusing on the threats of the oil crisis but rather on the future challenges and opportunities. The purpose of this congress is to explore, together with experts and industry leaders, whether the high oil prices will remain high, but more importantly also to find out what challenges will have to be coped with in the near future and to which business opportunities the resulting societal and economic changes may lead. The congress will take place in Amsterdam RAI (The Netherlands) on 21 and 22 January 2009. It is being organized by Europoint Conferences & Exhibitions from the Netherlands in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Hans Derksen as congress chairman.

The first day of the congress will deal with political and macro-economic aspects of the changing oil supply. The second day will have a focus on specific economic sectors, such as Transport & Infrastructure, Food & Agriculture, Energy Systems and Chemicals & Materials.

This congress is the first of its kind in which the impact of changing oil supply and increasing prices on many economic sectors is addressed in such an integral way. It is expected that this will lead to a fruitful interaction between speakers and congress delegates.
