Culina forms partnership with Warrens Group

Culina Group has entered into a joint venture with Warrens Group, the baked goods logistics company. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Warrens has a strong presence in the bread, cake and patisserie services marketplace, and this joint venture enables Culina to strengthen its market position in the UK.

“This joint venture with Warrens Group means we are now market leader in the UK in the baked goods niche,” said Thomas van Mourik, chief executive of Culina Group. “Warrens Group is a strong and successful business that fits well within Culina Group. I am very pleased that Warrens Group is now a part of our family. This positive development is going to provide great opportunities for both staff and clients of both Warrens Group and Culina Group as a whole.”

Warrens has six warehouses with 20,000 pallet spaces, of which five are in the central hub in Rugby and one in Bolton. Its fleet numbers about 150 tractor units and 220 trailers. Chief executive Michael Warren said: “This is a synergistic joint venture which will enable both our businesses to combine our strength to grow even further.”
