Daily takes van of the year title

The new Iveco Daily Blue Power range has been voted International Van of the Year 2018, while DAF’s new CF and XF series have taken the award for International Truck of the Year 2018.

The awards were presented at Solutrans, the international trade show for the road transport industry held in Lyon, France.

The judges said the Daily Blue Power “puts together the main and viable solutions to reduce the environmental impact of light commercial vehicles in urban and suburban operations”.

The DAF New CF and New XF feature new powertrains that give a fuel efficiency gain and CO2 reduction of seven per cent.

Gianenrico Griffini, chairman of the jury, said: “With the introduction of the New CF and New XF series, DAF has delivered a medium and heavy-duty truck range that sets a new standard in terms of driveline efficiency and overall performance”.
