DB Schenker forwarding ‚The Garden of Earthly Delights‘ to Vienna
Manifold logistics for one of the world’s biggest AIDS charity events: DB Schenker activities for the for the 22nd Life Ball in Vienna is entering the final straight
31 May sees the Vienna City Hall boasting passion and enthusiasm when the Life Ball, now staged for the 22nd time, devotes itself to the theme for 2014. Logistics planning for the major event has been in progress for several weeks. Providing the transportation for the ball, DB Schenker is supporting the AIDS charity event for the seventh time this year.
This year the logistics expert takes care of the decoration for the inner courtyard of Vienna’s Hofburg Palace this year. Plants, stones, and roll turf will transform the Swiss Court into an imaginative garden for the ‚AIDS Solidarity Gala‘, taking place in the advent of the ball. In total seven articulated lorries will be transported.
For the event at the Vienna City Hall Square DB Schenker’s articulated lorries will carry customised fashion from Milan to the Life Ball Fashion Show. In addition, the transport of stage sets, props, and decorations will be organised in the next few weeks. Among them are the backdrops for ‚Don Giovanni‘, a throne from Graz and a three metres high artificial horse.
Also this year DB Schenker presents the DB SCHENKERsecurity-container in the design of the Life Ball Style Bible with the theme ‚The Garden of Earthly Delights‘. The container will be used for construction and dismantling works and for security check at the Vienna City Hall Square. A specially branded DB-Schenker Life-Ball articulated lorry measuring an overall length of 13.6 metres and height of 2.4 metres, drives throughout Austria and is available for transportations around the Life Ball.
