DB Schenker launches ‘operation’ for Swarovski in Singapore

Swarovski opens its second logistics centre in the Southeast Asian city state of Singapore
 
With the support of DB Schenker Logistics, the globally acting Swarovski group improves and accelerates their delivery service for customers in the Far East. On 1 December 2012 the enterprise has opened a logistics centre in Singapore. “The location is an outsourcing project managed by DB Schenker Logistics“,Miguel Suarez, Director Supply Chain Centre of Business Excellence with Swarovski, says at the Translog Connect Congress 2012 in Budapest when speaking to the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung. So far the manufacturer of crystal glass jewelry and crystal glass elements had been supplying overseas customers exclusively via the logistics centre in Triesen, Principality of Liechtenstein.
 
Swarovski regularly supplies the new distribution platform in Singapore ex Triesen with articles from their jewelry, lifestyle and industrial assortment. These intercontinental transportations are handled by air and sea freight. “Via Singapore, fast delivery can be guaranteed for customers in the Asian growth markets“, said Miguel Suarez in Budapest.
