DB Schenker Romtrans wins “Best Logistics and Operational Award 2011“

DB Schenker Romtrans receives award for its innovative logistics solutions and high quality standard:

And the winner is – DB Schenker Romtrans. True to this motto the Romanian organisation of DB Schenker was recently awarded the “Best Logistics and Operational Excellence Award 2011“. The forwarding company was rewarded for its innovative ideas in logistics solutions and its high standards in operational qualities. This jury was formed by the magazines Tranzit, Cargo & Bus and Ziua Cargo, but also by Arilog board members.

On behalf of a customer DB Schenker Romtrans implemented a solution based on multiple distribution centres instead of the past model of one single distribution centre in Romania. The advantages are reduced logistics costs and better lead times to end-customers.

Introducing a new double deck trailer solution was another reason for the award. A new mutable-load-layer concept for trucks which DB Schenker Romtrans offers increases the load capacities to more than 50 per cent.

This solution decreases the number of trucks on the Romanian roads which in return decreases carbon emissions and saves the environment.
