DB Schenker: Stage two for the “young.stars academy”

On Monday, the one-week apprenticeship initiative “young.stars academy” was launched, during which 120 apprentices of DB Schenker gather in Frankenfels, Lower Austria and enhance their knowledge playfully. The program was developed by DB Schenker jointly with experienced experts and takes place once per year.

“Apprentice training is a particularly important subject for us. I also started my career as an apprentice at DB Schenker. I am therefore very pleased that our “young.stars academy” initiative has been so successful in recent years, both among the apprentices, and our partners and customers,” says Helmut Schweighofer, CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and South Eastern Europe.

The specially developed program is composed of modules: in the first year of apprenticeship, the focus is on customer communication and the development of intercultural competences. In the second year, the apprentices’ talents are predominantly dealing with conflict management and may try to simulate realistic business processes. The third year is marked by the strengthening of self-responsible thinking and action, as well as the development of a personal competency plan for the apprentices.
