DB Schenker terminates its membership in ZV Spedition & Logistik

DB Schenker in Austria will join their commitment to the sector in the Transport and Communications Division of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce

DB Schenker Logistics in Austria want to use their resources effectively in terms of association work. Thus the integrated logistics supplier will concentrate its sector work on the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO). The membership in the Austria association for transport and logistics Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik (ZV) was terminated as of 31 December 2014.

The Austrian Chamber of Commerce and its Transport and Communications Division has been representing the interests of DB Schenker Logistics competent and always satisfyingly for years. Moreover the division was an integrated part of a powerful and member-oriented representation of interests, as the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung was informed.

“The Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik (ZV) is making great efforts. However, many actions of the ZV are quite redundant compared to the initiatives of the Chamber of Commerce. In order to concentrate our resources and to maximise their use, we will join our efforts for the sector in the WKO’s Transport and Communications Division“, explains Kurt Leidinger, CEO DB Schenker Logistics in Austria.

Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik with headquarters in Vienna is an independent, non-party and transport-mode neutral association on a voluntary basis representing interests of forwarders and logistics suppliers with forwarding concession. The association is a member of the international umbrella organisation FIATA and represents its members’ interessts also across borders.
