Significant gain for Tyrol’s rolling road system

In the first half of the year 2014 the number of trucks carried by Ökombi’s rolling road system in Tyrol grows more than 13 per cent

Ökombi’s rolling road system is still in line with the trend in Tyrol. In the first half of the year 2014, 73,187 trucks were carried on the rail between Wörgl and Brenner, or Wörgl and Trento, respectively. This means a rise of 13.3 per cent year-on-year. Thus, increase on the railway is double as much as on the road – which had been up 7 per cent in the past six months. Utilisation ratio of the rolling road system was 83.3 per cent, after 79.6 per cent in the period from January to June 2013.

„The rolling road system RoLa is an important instrument of Tyrol to shift truck trips to the railway. It is our aim to develop transport and logistics in an ecological way“, says Tyrol’s deputy governor Ingrid Felipe. In the record year 2010 RoLa carried 245,000 trucks in Tyrol.
