db symmetry gets go ahead for Kettering scheme

db symmetry has got the green light for its 136-acre Symmetry Park Kettering scheme on the south side of Kettering just off A14.

Tritax Big Box REIT is funding the development, which now has outline  permission for 2.31 million sq ft of logistics floorspace.

The scheme will also deliver the first phase of the Isham by Pass which will see the dualling of the A509 from Junction 9 of the A14 to the site entrance.  It is located directly alongside the A14 “Trans-European” freight route.

Speaking about the decision, Jonathan Wallis development director at db symmetry, commented: “This is one of the few sites in the East Midlands that can accommodate a single unit in excess of one million sq ft.  Our focus is now on getting on site to start delivering buildings. Work has already started on a planning application for the associated infrastructure and first phase of development and we will continue to engage with the local community as our proposals progress.”

A Reserved Matters planning application is being worked up for submission later this year so Design and Build requirements can be delivered to meet an occupation date of early 2021.
