Deliveroo opens three new dark stores in London

Last mile delivery company Deliveroo has opened three new delivery-only kitchens in Acton, Brent, and Dulwich, in London.

The company announced the opening of its ‘Editions’ kitchens to cater to the increase in online ordering for food.

The new delivery-only kitchens form part of Deliveroo’s plan to grow its Editions service and roll out more sites across the country, and follows the successful opening of sites in London and Bristol earlier this year. After pioneering the creation of delivery-only kitchens in 2016, the company now has Editions sites across the UK, including Manchester, Leeds, and Brighton.

The new sites will host several restaurants, including Five Guys, Shake Shack, and Tao Tao Ju, among others.

Deliveroo’s expansion of its delivery-only kitchens sits alongside the recent launch of ‘Hop’ – the company’s rapid grocery service. In a partnership with Morrisons, customers can have groceries delivered in 10 minutes. This new service complements Deliveroo’s existing on-demand grocery offer, which delivers from more than 4,600 partner grocery stores in the UK.
