DHL appoints new CEO for DHL Freight

DHL has announced that Amadou Diallo is taking over the position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DHL Freight. In his new function, Amadou Diallo will be responsible for DHL’s international road and rail freight services.

Prior to his new responsibility, Amadou Diallo was Chief Executive Officer of DHL Global Forwarding for Africa and South Asia Pacific and a member of the DHL Global Forwarding, Freight Executive Board since 2004. Diallo was appointed to head the South Asia Pacific region in June 2008, prior to which he was Chief Financial Officer of Deutsche Post DHL Logistics Division and responsible for the integration of the supply chain management company Exel and DHL in the position of a Managing Director.

Thomas Nieszner, who previously held the function of CEO Global Forwarding Europe/Central and Eastern Europe at DHL since 2006 succeeds Diallo and he will be responsible to drive further growth and development in the regions Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Both Amadou Diallo and Thomas Nieszner will continue to report directly to Roger Crook.
