DHL Express opens gateway in Mexico City

 
DHL Express inaugurates new centre for throughput and customer services in Mexico

With immediate effect the global DHL Express network comprises a new hub for the handling of express consignments with destination or departure points in Latin America. The enterprise opened a cargo handling terminal with an included call centre for customers at the Mexico City International Airport. Built with investments totalling to EUR 6.2 million the new building triples the handling capacity of DHL Express to around 100,000 consignments per month. The terminal has about 2,600 square metres. The call centre attends to up to 18,000 calls and tracking data of 40,000 consignments per day.

Mexico is gaining importance for DHL Express. The main consignment flows are handled in traffic from/to the US, Canada, South America (Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala), the European key markets Spain, Germany, France, UK and Asia/Pacific (China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, India).
