Doppler Group focuses on logistics as core capability
On January 1st 2018, Doppler Group (Wels), Austria’s biggest private operator of fuel stations, takes over 100 percent of the operating business of Fazeni GmbH, a regional mineral oil dealer from Allhaming, Upper Austria.
The Fazeni Group’s stations and retail business will be integrated into the Doppler Group, and the division of mineral oil and fuel transport with more than 20 trucks will be marketed under the Turmlogistik brand. There is also a small power station on the Sipbach river.
On the whole, the Doppler Group anticipates an increase in its turnover of more than EUR 100 million net as a result of this fusion. Fazeni’s Managing Director Markus Neubauer remains in the company, as well as all of the 60 employees.
The location in Allhaming will be upgraded and will serve as the central logistics and storage location of the Doppler Group in the future. The goods handling, be it fuel, heating oil but also the entire barbecue range, will be stored in Allhaming in the future, and then sent to the individual customers.
The Fazeni Group saw rapid changes and concentrations in the energy trade as a reason for this move. Markus Neubauer: “With the Doppler Group, we have found a strong partner and a safe haven for our company and our employees. As a regional company of our size, a ‘match’ with the big ones would be very difficult. That is why we were looking for the alliance with the Doppler Group in time.”
Also Franz Joseph Doppler and Dr. Bernd Zierhut were satisfied with this step: “The new partnership with the Fazeni Group improves our overall performance on the market. Strengthening our trade business on the one hand, and the fuel stations on the other hand, expands the core capabilities of the group.
According to Bernd Zierhut, “Logistics, which has so far been handled by our partners, will be expanded as a further core capability, and we are expecting rising sales by strengthening our fleet in the retail trade for diesel and heating oil. With around 60 million liters of sales in the fuel oil segment, Doppler will become one of Austria’s major oil suppliers.”
