Parcel service DPD Austria registered growth in turnover figures and parcel volume in 2011

For DPD Austria the 2011 financial year showed a positive development. As opposed to the previous year, the leading private parcel service in the country has posted increases in terms of sales as well as the transported total parcel volume. The forwarded volume increased in comparison with 2010 by 2.1 per cent to 38.3 million parcels. The national parcel volume grew by two per cent. Per day they transported approximately 153,000 parcels in Austria. Export showed an increase of 2.8 per cent. This was accompanied by an increase in sales revenue by three per cent to EUR 157.6 million.

"This further increase is all the more remarkable because we are already the market leader for parcel transport in the B2B sector in Austria. This shows us that we are on the right track with our ongoing innovations in service and products," CEO Rainer Schwarz commented on the figures.

DPD Austria (Direct Parcel Distribution) based in Leopoldsdorf near Vienna is Austria’s leading private parcel service specialising to the business to business segment. The enterprise has 1,500 employees across the country and operates a transport fleet of 900 vehicles.
