Duffield appoints Norbert Dentressangle
Animal feed manufacturer WL Duffield & Sons has appointed Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services to support the distribution of palletised products through its flexible and cost-effective nationwide network. Based in Saxlingham Thorpe, Norwich, with another site in Wingham, Kent, Duffield produces more than 250,000 tons of animal feed per year for farmers in East Anglia and the South East. To support Duffield’s continued expansion, Norbert Dentressangle makes daily collections of palletised products from the Saxlingham mill and a storage depot in Bury St Edmunds and consolidates loads at its nearby site in Ipswich for next-day delivery via its shared-user network. Duffields also owns Pen Mill Feeds based in Yeovil, and uses the Norbert Dentressangle transport network to supply feeds across the South and South West regions. To improve operational efficiency, Duffields uses Norbert Dentressangle’s bespoke Shipment Handling & Reporting Program (SHARP) technology, an integrated online system that enables the company to place orders electronically, which are scanned and tracked in real-time, and access POD information.
