Dynamic Excellence: JCL steers on a growth course in 2012

JCL Logistics met expectations in the first six months and is about to complete a company acquisition in China

JCL AG – also known as JCL Logistics – steers on a growth course. Following a turnover of EUR 480 million in 2011 (this figure includes also business in France, Italy and Germany which was sold in late autumn 2011 and February 2012), the enterprise based in Graz targets a turnover at EUR 510 million for the current fiscal period. The growth is based on the expansion in the Russian Federation and also on the Logistics Outsourcing projects, which were started last year and gradually driven up. In an interview with the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung CEO Stephan Jöbstl says he was satisfied with the ‚performance‘ in the first six months. JCL Logistics has fulfilled the ambitious expectations for results.

The planned acquisition of an air/ocean freight forwarding company with around EUR 80 million in sales volume in the People’s Republic of China is entering a crucial phase. "We intend to finish this project before the end of this year," said Stephan Jöbstl about the state of affairs. The main motive for this acquisition in Asia is the pursuit of the so-called A-license, which means significant reductions in the exercise of daily business for international freight forwarders. According to the estimation by company management the volume of JCL Logistics in China justifies the establishment of own structure there.
