eCargo Pouch makes it public debut during IATA World Cargo Symposium 2010
eCargo Pouch is sponsoring the e-freight track on March 9-10 at the 2010 IATA World Cargo Symposium in Vancouver. This year’s conference theme is “Bounce Back – Rebuild for the Future”. E-freight is seen as a major driver in making the airfreight industry more efficient and profitable, and eCargo Pouch® is set to become an essential tool to make e-freight happen. eCargo Pouch, the cooperation between Cargonaut International B.V. and Traxon Europe will make its public debut on March 9 as sponsor of the e-freight track at the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Vancouver (Canada). Felix Keck, Managing Director of Traxon Europe, will be chairing the e-freight track that afternoon. The overall IATA message of the sessions is “Pumping up the Volume”. Keck feels confident that e-freight will make a real break through this year. All companies in the airfreight industry continue to strive for paperless processes that will improve efficiency and at the same time cut operational costs. To facilitate the roll out of e-freight Traxon Europe and Cargonaut International together recently launched eCargo Pouch®, a central document and message management system, which creates, archives and permits viewing of virtual document pouches. These are comparable to the paper pouches that accompany air cargo shipments. Freight forwarders can file trade and air transport documents, e.g. commercial invoices, certificates of origin, packing lists, air waybills or house air waybills, electronically with eCargo Pouch®. The documents are then available in real time via the internet to all authorized partners of the supply chain. These might be company subsidiaries, representative offices, partner companies in the country of destination, airlines, cargo handling agents etc. It is not just commercial enterprises that can take advantage of the eCargo Pouch® technology, customs organizations also can clearly see the benefits to their own operations. Interested parties can see a live demonstration of the eCargo Pouch® solution given by Arno Hoitink, Managing Director of Cargonaut International, during the e-freight track in Vancouver. In addition, there will be opportunities to learn more about the product at the eCargo Pouch® booth.
