EGS opens its first office in southern Germany

European Gateway Services (EGS), synchromodal service provider of seaports hinterland transport will open its own office in Munich

European Gateway Services (EGS) will open its own office in Munich before the end of this month. By opening the office in the Bavarian metropolis, EGS emphasises its ambitions to operate in southern Germany.

EGS already offers its customers regular and reliable train services between Rotterdam and Bavaria, but the organisation wants to further develop these services.

The Munich office means that EGS can respond faster and better to customer requirements, also as knowledge of the local market will be combined with the know-how of procedures in Rotterdam. On behalf of EGS, Marilyne van Hoey Smith will be the local contact person for all customers. Over the last years, Marilyne has been working at EGS and before that at ECT in Rotterdam, so she has created a close working relationship with the operational organisation.

Since 2012, the shuttle trains between Munich and Rotterdam and between Nuremberg and Rotterdam have been offering four services per week in both directions. In case of increased cargo capacity, EGS intends to further increase the frequency of the Rotterdam-Bavaria Express.

The EGS office in Munich is located at Kronstadter Straße 4, strategically situated between the airport and the city centre. The office can be contacted at +49 1638090153.

European Gateway Services (EGS) offers shipping lines, logistics providers and shippers high frequent rail and barge connections between Rotterdam and an integrated and rapidly expanding network of inland terminals in the European hinterland. The service range covers customs services such as paperless transport and additional services like storage, distribution, empty depot and more.
