Gebrüder Weiss expands Home Delivery service to Romania
The international transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss now also offers Home Delivery in Romania. Under the product name “GW pro.line home”, goods ordered online are delivered directly to the end consumer’s door and, if required, returns management is taken over. With this range of services, Gebrüder Weiss aims above all to address large mail-order companies, furniture stores, DIY stores and electronics stores and provide them with professional support in supplying end customers, reads a press release of the company.
“Online trading is booming in Romania. In 2018 alone, e-commerce grew by 30 percent compared to the previous year. As a full-service logistics provider, we naturally want to serve this rapidly growing B2C market in the best possible way. The introduction of GW pro.line home is a decisive step in this direction,” says Viorel Leca, Country Manager Gebrüder Weiss Romania.
Gebrüder Weiss is already very successful in the home delivery sector in several countries. In Austria, the logistics company continues to be the market leader in the home delivery segment. In 2018, around 335,000 orders from the furniture, household and consumer electronics sectors were delivered to end customers there. This corresponds to an increase of around 20 per cent compared to the previous year.
In the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia, Gebrüder Weiss is also achieving increasing market shares with “GW pro.line home” and counts renowned international mail order companies and furniture stores among its customer base. Now the service will also be available in Romania.
