Ekol Logistics develops further in Greece
Ekol Logistics added Greece into its network on 4th July 2012, and employs more than 50 people in the country. The company has grown by 25 percent in turnover each year. The company provides transports to and from Europe, mainly by road, with connections to more than 15 destinations.
“We have been present on the Greek market for 5 years now and our turnover in 2016 was EUR 12 million. For 2017 we are planning to exceed EUR 15 million,” – says Dimitris Batakis, Country Manager, Ekol Greece.
Since Ekol entered the Greek market, investments in the country have amounted to around EUR 5 million. “We are planning to invest more than EUR 2 million to improve the facilities in the port of Lavrio and also to create our own fleet in Greece for national distribution, a project of around EUR 1 million, in the near future,” – adds Dimitris Batakis.
“We are planning to offer also rail connection to Europe using the ports of Lavrio & Thessaloniki and connect them with the rail terminals in Aspropyrgos and the port of Thessaloniki. Moreover we have a weekly connection with Cyprus using our own units and we intend to expand in Israel using the ports in Haifa and Ashdod,” says Dimitris Batakis. The expanded services shall bring advantages for the customers such as better transit time, more connections and more flexibility.
Ekol Greece is a fast growing company in Greece, located in Thessaloniki and Athens, in modern facilities of 6,000 m2 in the industrial area of Aspropyrgos serving contract logistics, international & national transportation. During this year it will expand its locations to many Greek cities covering all inland Greece in 24 hours with its own network.
