Emergency logistics firm expands international sales team

Alex Burnett joins Evolution Time Critical as European Sales Development Manager

Evolution Time Critical has appointed Alex Burnett as its new European Sales Development Manager. Burnett, previously of logistics firm TNT, will be responsible for forging relationships with European car manufacturers and their tiered suppliers, and explaining how Evolution’s emergency logistics services help to prevent costly production delays around the world. His appointment is the company’s second in the past few months, following the recent addition of Barbara Piber to its German sales team. Managing director Brad Brennan anticipates making a third appointment by the end of the year.

“With four years’ logistics experience in the armed forces and ten years in sales and operations roles at TNT, Alex has an intimate understanding of the key challenges facing manufacturers and their international supply chains,” comments Brennan. “His strong experience coupled with his enthusiastic, ‘can do’ attitude make him a perfect fit for a team where every minute is critical.”

Burnett began his career in the British Army’s Military Transport division, organising transport for high ranking army officials. During his four years in the military, he served in the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he was tasked with planning strategic routes for food, fuel and ammunitions replenishments through mine-ridden territory. While at TNT, he devised and proposed a transport solution to ship urgent medical supplies needed by the NHS during the swine flu pandemic from its central supplies to hospitals and clinics across the country.

“I had heard about Evolution Time Critical’s reputation for service excellence and was keen to be a part of the team,” explains Burnett. “Moving into a specialist environment will provide a new challenge for me and I look forward to building on Evolution’s close links with Europe’s car makers and their suppliers to ensure that we continue to gain valuable experience of the best solutions for time critical deliveries.”

Evolution Time Critical has specialised in providing critical delivery solutions for many of the world’s leading car manufacturers and component suppliers for over ten years, using a wide range of transport modes. Its global control centre operates 24 hours a day, with analysts responding to enquiries within 15 minutes to offer a choice of potential solutions. In February 2010, Evolution Time Critical won the Frost & Sullivan 2010 European Logistics Vertical Market Penetration award for its strong growth and performance in the emergency logistics sector.
