Omega Pharma extends its contract with new PostNL subsidiary

Omega Pharma, a leading player on the Belgian market for over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and personal care products, has extended its contract with trans-o-flex Belgium for another three years.

Trans-o-flex Belgium, whose upcoming acquisition by PostNL was recently announced, has been the distributor for Omega Pharma’s business-to-business consignments in Belgium since 1987. The contract involves the handling of 15,000 pallets and 500,000 parcels annually.

Gerrit Mastenbroek, general manager at PostNL Parcels, said: "We are really delighted with the trust shown in us through the long-term extension of the contract. The good, sustainable relationship between Omega Pharma and trans-o-flex Belgium will continue. The company can look forward to working with a quality contract with a minimum of 98% delivery, something which is unique in this sector. As the market leader in the pharmaceutical vertical market, trans-o-flex Belgium is committed to the further development of this sector and has found a good parent company in PostNL Parcels to facilitate this."

Omega Pharma and PostNL are also discussing ways to optimise transport as a response to a possible expansions of Omega Pharma’s activities.
