Hugh Williams Announces Key Discussion Topics for Hi-tech SCM Summit

In anticipation for this year’s European Hi-Tech and Electronics Supply Chain Summit Chairman, Hugh Williams, has announced his vision of the event.

Dear conference delegates,

It’s a great pleasure to have been invited to chair the 6th Annual Hi-Tech & Electronics Supply Chain Summit – Europe at the newly renovated Novotel Hotel, Amsterdam over May 9-10, 2012.  Holland explodes with colour in the springtime and its world-famous tulip fields are likely to be in bloom during your visit.  You may want to extend your stay over the weekend and check out extraordinary sights like this.

I promised the eyefortransport organisers that this year’s event would not be the standard fare, with delegates sitting passively and listening to PowerPoint presentations.  To run the event this way would be squandering the immense value of having Europe’s most experienced supply chain leaders in one room – the collective intelligence and stories from the field.  Instead, I’ll be seeking to engage everyone through highly interactive sessions designed to provoke lively debates that lead to real insights.

In preparing for the Summit, I would strongly encourage you to think about how the conference themes of agility, collaboration and the digital supply chain are actually being played out in your company.  If you haven’t reviewed the conference agenda, please have a look here for further inspiration.

My aim is to venture behind these themes and get people talking what’s really happening on the ground today, identify what’s stopping them from achieving goals in these areas and come up with some practical ideas to take back to their o‑ces.  On that front, for the first time we’ll be capturing these ideas during the sessions and summarising them for you in ‘Takeaway Reports’ so that you will have something tangible to share with your colleagues and apply in practice. I hope you are as excited as I am about this year’s event and I look forward to hosting you in May!

Sincerely,

Hugh Williams
