Ericsson awards DB Schenker for rail solution

Ericsson has awarded DB Schenker with their “Sustainability Excellence Award” for rail solutions between Europe and China

Ericsson awarded DB Schenker for their creative way of thinking, introducing Ericsson to new innovative and sustainable multimodal solutions such as introducing rail solutions for the company’s inbound flows to/from Europe and China, to combine various modes of transport rail – truck – air – ocean in purpose of optimizing lead-time, cost and environmental impact.

“We are constantly working on finding new solutions where we combine transport modes in different ways to make our transport more cost efficient, faster and with less environmental impact. We are very proud that Ericsson pay attention to our work and honor us in this way,” says Göran Åberg, Regional Director, DB Schenker Logistics, Region Europe North & East.

DB Schenker’s rail solution shortens the lead time for a journey between China and Europe with about ten days compared to a normal ocean transport. The award was presented during Ericsson’s Executive Supplier Collaboration Meeting in Stockholm, 2 December 2014.
