Etihad Airways: More flights to India and Sri Lanka

More direct flights with Etihad Airwsys from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode and Colombo from January 2013
 
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, enhances the flight offer to the most important cities on the Indian subcontinent. From 1 January 2013 the flights to the South Indian city of Kozhikode will be more than doubled to seven per week. Also Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital, will be approached daily from 2 January 2013. The number of weekly flights increases from four to seven.
 
James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways says “India and Sri Lanka are important destinations within our global route network. Both countries show strong local demand and growing flight traffic via Abu Dhabi to worldwide key destinations."
 
In addition to the flights to Kozhikode the airline offers 56 weekly direct services from Abu Dhabi to eight metropolises in India: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai, New-Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram and since recently Ahmedabad.
 
Etihad Airways was established in 2003. From their hub at the Abu Dhabi International Airport the airline serves 86 passenger and cargo destinations in the Near East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and America. The fleet consists of 68 Airbus and Boeing jets. 90 more machines are on order, including ten Airbus A380.
