Eurodis growing again above market average

In 2018 Eurodis, the international transport network for parcels and pallets in 36 European countries, has increased the number of transported shipments by nine per cent. Thus the growth rate has nearly doubled compared to 2017.

They were very pleased with this outcome, comments Christian Knoblich, managing director of Eurodis GmbH. The company, based in Weinheim Germany, is steering the European network. With nine per cent increase the network grew again above market average. In addition they achieved a high growth rate in their core segment B2B as well as with B2C shipments.

Eurodis introduced deliveries to consumers in 2015. Today the whole transport volume between companies is still building the vast majority of their transports, while B2C is growing faster than B2B. Christian Knoblich:“Thanks to new solutions and partners in our network, we are confident to increase the nine per cent growth rate this year in the future and to realise the double digit pace we barely missed in 2018.”

They recently introduced the Geis Group in Poland to the network. The company has a broad service portfolio, thus Christian Knoblich expects that there will be a significant increase of shipments into Poland. “Moreover, we will present at least one more strong partner in an important European country this year and this will again speed up our growth,” the manager adds.

Knoblich expects another boost in opening for imports from Asia. “Surely, we already have some import shipments from China and other strong Asian export countries. But starting this year, we will provide a new dedicated solution for this via one of our partners.” Through this, there would be one central gateway for Asian shipments into 36 European countries.

Eurodis transports both B2B- and B2C-shipments. The network members are companies like trans-o-flex (Germany), Redur (Spain/Portugal), SDA (Italy), Österreichische Post (Austria), PostNL (Netherlands) or Bonafide (Switzerland). Eurodis-members employ 52.000 people, operate 25.000 vehicles, have forwarded about 560 million shipments and reached a revenue of EUR 3.8 billion in 2017.

Founded in 1993 by leading national logistics service providers the cooperation is specialised in the joint transport of goods in parcels and on pallets. This combi-freight service facilitates the handling of shipments for shippers as well as consignees and increases dispatch flexibility.
