Ewald Kaiser and Hansjörg Rodi to join the board of Schenker

Schenker AG: Ewald Kaiser new board member for land transport; Hansjörg Rodi takes over board responsibility for contract logistics

The supervisory board of Schenker AG has appointed Ewald Kaiser, 52, as the new board member, responsible for the land transport unit. In his most recent post, business economist Ewald Kaiser was responsible as CEO of M&M Militzer & Münch International Holding AG in St. Gall, Switzerland from 2008 till 2013. He will take up his new responsibility at Schenker AG on September 1, 2014, succeeding Karl Nutzinger, who has quit the company.

After graduating in Stuttgart, Germany Ewald Kaiser started his professional career in European road haulage at Kühne + Nagel. In 1998 he returned to the forwarder as CEO of the UK subsidiary, after various top positions in different companies in the logistics industry. From 2001 till 2006 he headed the German subsidiary of Kühne + Nagel, before joining the board of Kühne + Nagel with responsibility for land transport in 2005.

The supervisory board filled also the vacant position of board member for contract logistics at Schenker AG. Dr. Hansjörg Rodi, 48, so far CEO Schenker Deutschland AG, will take over this responsibility effective October 1, 2014. Economist Hansjörg Rodi will continue to head Schenker Deutschland AG until a successor will be nominated for this responsibility.

After leaving university with a Ph.D. in political economics in 1996 and starting his working career at Stinnes AG, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany in 1998, Hansjörg Rodi has taken over responsibility in various top management positions at DB Schenker Logistics since 1998. Amongst others, from 2003 till 2008, he was responsible as CFO for the Europe West region, based in Paris. As CEO of Schenker Deutschland AG he is also heading the Europe Central region.
