The development project of Gysev Cargo Zrt., worth 1 741 million HUF (EUR 5.7 m), in Sopron, western Hungary, has come to a successful end. The railway company has received a grant of 522 million HUF (EUR 1.7 m) within the frameworks of the Operational Programme for Economic Development of the New Széchenyi Plan.

Within the project “Complex technological development of Gysev Cargo Zrt.” to further develop the Intermodal Logistics Services Centre of Sopron, several important investments have been implemented: a Künz gantry crane with a hoisting capacity of 41 tonnes has been purchased, three wood shelters made of steel have been built and the concrete pavement of the 5,217 m² depot area of the container terminal has been partially renewed.

Gysev Cargo regards it as its mission to take an ever increasing role in the goods transportation from the north to the south of Europe, apart from its current gateway function between east and west. The Intermodal Logistics Services Centre that is located at the intersection of the two freight corridors in Sopron serves as background basefor the rail freight activities.
