Fashion retailer C&A prolongs its cooperation with Logwin

Logwin is investing in a longstanding customer relation: Construction of a new 21,000 m² cross docking facility in Mönchengladbach

Logwin and its longstanding client C&A agreed to extend their long-term cooperation in the area of logistics. This also marked the start of construction of a new facility meeting the logistical demands of the fashion chain. Construction works in the Mönchengladbach Regiopark has been going on since January. The site is conveniently located close to the highway.

On a 65,000 m² site a 21,000 m² hall with 78 gates is being built. Operation is to start in early July. In a first step Logwin moved the handling of flat-packed garments to the new building; hanging garments are planned to be handled after the second construction stage. Until completion of the new building Logwin distributes the hanging garments from Mönchengladbach-Wickrath, and flat-packed goods from Schwalmtal-Waldniel, which is nearby.

For over 50 years Logwin has been providing comprehensive logistics services to its customer C&A. The focus is on cross-docking for international distribution: „Deliveries from all over the world arive here,“ says Manfred Schneider, Branch Manager Mönchengladbach. „We accept the goods, bundle the items according to destination in Europe and distribute them to recipients in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey.“ Apart from the items destined for the market of their manufacturing country, Logwin coordinates the entire European distribution of all fashion products by C&A.

The transhipment volume for C&A is high, „we could not have meet our customer’s desire to expand at the Schwalmtal-Waldniel location,“ says Dirk Ewers, Managing Director Logwin Solutions Network. „We are pleased to offer an optimal solution together with Goodman real estate developer and Vetten, our warehouse logistics partner.“
