FedEx Express opens new Asia hub
Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou gained a new attraction. On February 6, the globally acting express transport company FedEx Express opened the new Asia Pacific hub in the Pearl River Delta in southern China. The new building is now the company’s largest handling centre outside of the United States. The facility will replace the previously operated hub in Subic Bay, Philippines. FedEx Express invested USD 150 million into the new hub. Every week 136 flights are handled there; including the direct services to the European hub at Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris. The maximum capacity of the sorting system is 24,000 packages per hour. Quelle: Österreichische Verkehrszeitung |
