FedEx introduces Boeing 777F service in India

FedEx Express has launched a new intercontinental flight route that will provide significant service improvements for customers shipping between the US, Middle East, India and Europe.

The deployment of the new Boeing 777 Freighter is part of a series of service and capabilities up-grades by FedEx Express in India.

According to vice president of Operations at FedEx Express India, Kenneth Koval, Indian businesses are increasingly expanding beyond geographical boundaries and trading on a global level, resulting in a demand for increased capacity and enhanced connectivity.

FedEx Express is the first US-based, global, all-cargo airline to add the Boeing 777F to its fleet. The company has already taken delivery of twelve Boeing 777Fs and has another 32 on order.

Today’s announcement is another in a series of flight enhancements introduced by FedEx Express in Europe, the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa to add capacity for key markets.

Earlier this year, the company launched five weekly direct flights between China and India to strengthen the booming trade lane between India and Asia. The company also launched a new connection between Europe and Asia in 2010, with a direct round-trip flight between Paris and Hong Kong.
