Felbermayr opens new heavylift warehouse on Rhine river

New facility enhances the options for the Felbermayr group as the operator of the heavylift and bulk terminal in the port of Krefeld/Rhine

From January 2015 the Felbermayr corporate group at its location in Krefeld/Rhine has expanded its range of services, in addition to port operations and an open-air storage area, with a 4,000 m² warehouse and assembly hall. With a height of about 19 metres and connections to rail, road and water the new warehouse offers better options for the storage, handling and assembly of heavy goods in the future. Two combinable overhead cranes will be available for the handling of components up to 400 tonnes.

In addition, the extension of the existing open-air storage and handling areas to approximately 40,000 square metres ma- kes the terminal even better adapted for the requirements of the industry.

Furthermore, this unique heavy goods terminal on the left bank of the Rhine also benefits from ISPS ac- creditation and our employees‘ corresponding qualifications. The facility thus guarantees compliance with the security provisions in the supply chain – as issued by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the European Union (EU).
