Fiege attends to a new customer from the spirits industry

Brown Forman Beverages Europe Ltd. is to use the warehousing logistics and distribution processes of the Fiege group in Germany with immediate effect:

The Mega Center Hamburg of the Fiege group serves a new major customer. Brown Forman Beverages Europe Ltd. based in Hamburg has transferred the entire logistical handling of warehouse and distribution processes for its German retail structures, as well as for Duty Free buyers in Germany, Switzerland and Benelux to the contract logistics specialist.

The company is a producer and marketer of quality alcoholic beverages such as Jack Daniel’s, Southern Comfort, Finlandia Vodka, Jimador Tequila and Tequila Herradura. Fiege stores up to 8,000 pallets with products of this attractive brand range at its so-called "Open SpiritsWarehouse", which enables the delay of tax levies and duties until the actual sale of the products to the buyers of Brown Forman, thus creating an added value for the customer.

The products of the new customer are largely imported from the USA via container. Fiege collects the merchandise at the Hamburg port, manages the import processes, organises the containerisation all the way to the warehouse where all standardised warehousing services are rendered, and controls the distribution of merchandise as piece goods, part load and full load transports throughout Germany. The value added services include for example the building of sales displays, the compilation of product kits, gift wrapping and labelling of the merchandise e.g. for Duty Free retailing. Moreover, Fiege ensures the entire reverse logistics for the customer. Fiege imports ready-to-drink products, which are currently experiencing a major growth spurt, from the production site in the Netherlands and consolidates the goods with the remaining product groups at the Hamburg warehouse for further process handling.
