Film production logistics company opens new depot in Liverpool

Supplier2Location Group, a provider of logistics services and location support for TV and film production in the UK, has opened a new depot in Liverpool.

The company, which has previously provided support on the sets of blockbuster films like The Batman and No Time To Die as well as popular series like Peaky Blinders and The Crown, opened the facility to serve the entertainment industry in the north of England.

Lynn Saunders, Head of the Liverpool Film Office claims that the UK film and TV industry is “booming”, noting that “Liverpool is the second most filmed city in the UK”. Because of this, Supplier2Location feels it is necessary to expand in the North and make Liverpool its base for this region.

The new depot is in Knowsley, between Liverpool City Centre and St Helens. It has over 4,000ft² space and is stocked with industrial equipment to support the company’s work going forward.

Supplier2Location’s Managing Director Ian Pearce said: “We’ve been searching for the right premises in Merseyside to act as our Northern hub for some time, so we are delighted to be opening this strategic and vital facility in Knowsley.”

He continued: “Its location enables us to provide a faster, more efficient service to all our existing clients as well as providing a full support service with a lower carbon footprint because of our reduced journey times to the increasing number of production companies understandably choosing to film here and across the North-West of England.”

With a major deal being signed recently to set up new film and TV studios in Liverpool’s Littlewoods Building, Supplier2Location will be hoping to use its new Merseyside facility to support projects there once the studios are in operation.
