Firethorn secures planning for London last-mile logistics hub

Property developer Firethorn Trust has been given permission to deliver a last-mile logistics hub in south east London.

The four-unit scheme, named Blueprint Erith, is set to create 93,984ft2 of Grade-A space, fitted out with sustainable design features and quality office accommodation.

Work on the site is expected to commence soon with completion expected by Q2 2023.

With a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating, Blueprint Erith will be net-zero carbon in construction and feature a Photovoltaic roof structure, capable of accommodating full PV coverage.

The 63 car parking spaces at the site will include 13 EV charging points, while the mezzanine offices utilise comfort cooling and LED lighting, with 15% roof light coverage throughout the building.

Paul Martin, development director at Firethorn Trust said: “Firethorn’s entry into the London market demonstrates our ambition for growth and our commitment to developing high-quality commercial solutions at every step of the supply chain.

“With the new Crossrail, Silvertown Tunnel and Lower Thames Crossing completing in the next six years, the Erith area is undergoing an exciting period of regeneration, and with an even greater requirement for Grade-A logistics warehousing in the region, we look forward to swiftly bringing the development to completion over the next 12 months.”
