Fortec introduces new POD app
The Fortec Distribution Network has launched a new proof of delivery app, Fortec Connect, which is to be rolled out nationwide, following successful trials last September.
Developed by Vita Software, the new app sees signatures collected on smart phones automatically timed, dated, and GPS stamped, before being uploaded in real-time to Fortec and its customers.
The company said it will enable its network of depots to track progress of their fleet in real-time, viewing full PODs within seconds of a delivery.
“The new app can be used on any Android device so the project can be easily rolled out throughout Europe,“ said IT manager at Fortec, Dave Thorpe.
„It also offers our members the flexibility to access it from their own Android phones, if they wish and can also accept freight from any other system.
„The industry is finally catching up with customer demand.”
