Four new intermodal corridors to CEE with Ewals Cargo Care

Ewals Cargo Care has added rail routes to destinations in Poland, Czech Republic and Romania to its intermodal network

Ewals Cargo Care (Tegelen/The Netherlands) shipped its first Mega Huckepack trailer on the new ECC rail connection between Genk in Belgium and Curtici in Romania. By doing so, the company officially started on this intermodal corridor which is the latest of four recently added rail routes over the last few months: Genk (Belgium) – Curtici (Romania), Rotterdam (Netherlands) – Poznan (Poland), Duisburg (Germany) – Lovosice (Czech Republic), Duisburg (Germany) – Ostrava (Czech Republic).

In addition to the existing intermodal and ro-ro network to other regions of Europe, such as Scandinavia, Spain and the United Kingdom, these new rail routes mean an extra focus on shipments and supply chain solutions to and from Central Europe.

“This is a logical step, considering the growth of our business in the region since the opening of our own office in Timisoara in 2006,“ the company announces. Ewals Cargo Care has a rapidly expanding office in Romania, with 400 trucks and several partners such as Cartrans, who are providing local services with more than 150 trucks.
