Frigologo is now going to Moldova and Georgia

The Frigologo Group, one of the largest full-range providers of temperature-controlled food logistics in Central and Eastern Europe, is about to complete another expansion step. In the next few weeks, the extension of the handling area for food of all kinds in Maria Lanzendorf near Vienna will be completed. In total, 23,000 m² of warehouse space and 2,000 m² of rentable office space have been built there, the company writes in a press release.

The added space also enhances the range of value added services: In the new high-bay warehouse of the location, an additional stage level was added, which offers the food logistics specialist enough space for repacking and display construction. Thus, the individual specifications of the customers can be addressed even better, which helps to save downstream work processes. In the new logistics facility chocolate, meat, dairy, convenience and other products are stored and picked in different temperature zones from 0 ° C to + 18 ° C for the metropolitan area of Vienna and the CEE region.

Frigologo, based in Seekirchen, has grown steadily since its establishment more than 25 years ago by Fritz Herzog. At present, the company offers logistics and handling solutions for chocolate, milk/convenience products, meat and sausage in four separate temperature zones on almost 60,000 m² of transhipment and storage space at five locations in Salzburg, Upper Austria, Vienna and Slovenia, and over 450 trailer trucks from -28 ° C to + 18 ° C, product accurate and energy efficiently. The annual turnover generated by more than 320 employees amounts to EUR 60 million.

The fact that many customers of the first hour of Frigologo remain loyal to this day, which proves how much the food industry appreciates the logistics quality of the Salzburg-based company. Since the opening of the hub in Sattledt with more than 11,000 pallet spaces in 2015, more or less all Austrian food retailers, including discounters and C+C chains, count among the Salzburg company’s customers in the field of fresh food logistics.

With modern, new warehouses, the company wants to pay even more attention to logistics for meat and sausage products in the future: “Optimum meat logistics require a constant temperature of zero to two degrees. We can offer this with our new temperature-controlled warehouses nationwide for all of Austria,” says managing director Friedrich Zechmann. Even sensitive branded goods, such as chocolate and other confectionery, can be stored in a targeted manner at 14 to 18 degrees in large quantities and transported.

Thanks to the consistent expansion of transport, storage and transhipment capacities, even more geographic destinations can be served. In addition to Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria, Moldova and Georgia are also being approached in Southeastern Europe. Also westbound transport sees increasing deliveries to Germany, Italy, Benelux and France. The full-range provider of temperature-controlled food logistics in CEE annually transports 600,000 shipments with a total weight of 540,000 tonnes.
