Gazeley hands over 670,000 sq ft fulfilment centre to John Lewis

John Lewis has taken possession of its new 670,000 sq ft e-commerce centre at Milton Keynes from developer Gazeley.

Dino Rocos, operations director at John Lewis said: „Magna Park Milton Keynes is our flagship UK distribution site and plays a key role in the development of our successful omni-channel distribution strategy. Gazeley are a key partner to the business and have once again demonstrated their ability to deliver on time and on budget for the John Lewis Partnership”

The retailer will fit out the building which is expected to become fully operational by the spring of 2015 and will employ 450 people from the surrounding area.

The building, John Lewis’s second at Magna Park Milton Keynes took 24 weeks to complete. It sits on a 25 acre site next door to the retailer’s first 650,000 sq ft warehouse and is connected via a link bridge weighing 153 tonnes and spanning 93m.

Both building provide John Lewis with 1.3 million sq ft of floor space dedicated to the fulfilment of its fast expanding omni-channel retail business.
