Gebrüder Weiss expands its location in Esslingen
Transport and logistics expert Gebrüder Weiss to add a state-of-the-art throughput facility to its Esslingen branch before the end of 2015
Building a new warehouse at its Esslingen location, Gebrüder Weiss optimises the transhipment of goods. Equipped with an improved sound insulation, energy-efficient lighting, a modern camera system, the new building meets the highest standards in technology, safety and ecology. „With this new infrastructure, we are able to offer faster throughput and meet the demands of our customers for shorter transport times,“ says Thorsten Munk, branch manager at Gebrüder Weiss Esslingen. The terminal is to start operation by the end of 2015. The investment totals approximately EUR 6 million.
Gebrüder Weiss has about 300 employees at its Esslingen site, about 70 of them at the throughput terminal. The building is located close to the A8 motorway and the main road no. 10. Their established service portfolio covers pan-European general cargo transport with about 80 direct services, as well as TFL and LCL services. Gebrüder Weiss Esslingen is connected 100 per cent to the network of its parent company.
